Ionian Starships

Ionian starships are unique in design, and all Ionian ships are large in comparison with most other races. Ionians have no cloaking devices or weapons of any kind in any of their ships. Ionian ships, however, are rather well defended. Every ship has an Aegis type shield, capable of adapting to different weapons very quickly, as well as a Neutronium alloy hull, the strongest known metal in the universe. Finally, all Ionian ships carry at least one Interluxic transporter, capable of penetrating any type of shield that allows light through. A list of known Ionian starships can be seen below.

Researches are now developing a means of incorporating intergalactic travel for these behemoth vessels.

Description: Often a research vessel for the Ionian League, this is the fastest ship in the Ionian Fleet. Capable of reaching speeds of Warp 9.993, it dwarfs the speed of other vessels such as the Navigare and Celox classes. This type of vessel is usually a scientific vessel, but also performs tasks such as exploration, scouting, diplomacy, et cetera. Along with the Aegis and Navigare class, the Actuaris class is one of the Ionian fleet’s greatest prides.

Ore can be carried either inside of the ship, where it begins to be processed, or towed by the ships incredibly powerful Gravis Remulcum tractor beams.
