Ionian Technology

Ionian League technology is advanced compared to federation technology levels. Although they have the capability, they have chosen not to develop any cloaking or weapon technology, in any form. However, their starships and colonies are equiped with other forms of advanced transporters, sensors, and emitter arrays as well as moderately more efficient propulsion devices. Also, Ionian shields are at very high output levels, ship and station metals are extremely durable, and their power generation capablility is as advanced as possible with the use of the most powerful source in the universe, the Omega Molecule. A list of some of these technologies is given below.

There are two very different types of power supplies used on Ionian space stations, starships, and planets, the Alpha and Omega Cores.

[edit] Alpha

The Alpha Core is the Ionian name for a warp core, and they are used on most ships or in groups for reserve power on an Aegis class. There are three types of Alpha cores: the standard (usually just Alpha), the Alpha-B, and the Alpha-C core. Alpha-B Core: Like a bike’s low gears, the Alpha-B core provides the highest possible speeds with lower sustainability. Alpha-C Core: Like a bike’s high gears, the Alpha-C core provides a slower but more reliable Warp flight.

This highly sensitive core is comprised of a Palladium Chamber that houses a single Omega Particle. The Omega Particle is tapped of its energy as needed by the ship’s power grid, allowing the power necessary for the extremely high-output Ionian shield Omnis Aegis. This is the greatest power source in known existence.

[edit] Propulsion

Although there are two major forms of power generation, there are three different types of starship propulsion: Alpha, Beta, and Omega Drives.

[edit] Alpha

The Ionian name for the Warp Drive is the Alpha Drive, and although there are three types of power devices used for the Alpha drive, there is only one type of Alpha drive itself, which is adapted to fit any of the three.

The Ionian name for an Impulse Drive is the Beta Drive. Capable of 97% lightspeed, it is the oldest propulsion form in use. It is primarily a secondary power source.

[edit] Omega

An Omega Drive is a type of warp drive that is connected directly to the Omega Core of a planet, station, or starship. Although it cannot match the speed of the Alpha-B Drive. However, it is the most efficient, most reliable, and most well powered propulsion device of the Ionians.

An Omnisensor is a sensor device comprising of every known sensor device including standard sensors, Long-range Tachyon, Gravimetric, Metaphasic, Macro-tunneling, and many other sensor devices.

A Multisensor is a sensor device composed of nearly every known sensor device including standard and gravimetric sensors.

[edit] Omega Adaptive Shield

The Apto Munimen, more commonly known as the Omega Adaptive Shield, is a shield that draws power directly from an Omega Molecule, and adapts to most energy frequencies immediately. Any frequency not in the shield’s database is sent to Ionian Command, which sends the frequency modulation to all outgoing ships. It is able to withstand a supernova with minimal shield reduction.

[edit] Omnis Aegis

The Omnis Aegis is a deflector shield that combines Omega Adaptive and Refractive (which shields from long-range sensors while uncloaked) Shields. Due to the high energy output of this shield, it is impossible to maintain without a huge power source such as the Omega Core.

[edit] Multi Aegis

The Multi Aegis is a deflector shield that harnesses Adaptive (not Omega Adaptive) and Refractive shielding. This shield type is used on smaller ships lacking an Omega Core power source.

[edit] Neutronium Omnicallum

Neutronium Omnicallum is a hull alloy composed of Neutronium and Ablative Monotanium Armor plating. It is almost always polarized (in order to disrupt tractor beams as well as masking the approach of the ship if uncloaked).

[edit] Neutronium Multicallum

Neutronium Multicallum is hull material composed of a polarized Neutronium Monotanium alloy and used on small ships. This alloy is lighter than Neutronium Omnicallum in strength and weight.

[edit] Gravis Remulcum Tractor Beam

The Gravis Remulcum Tractor Beam is an advanced Ionian tractor beam in comparison to the standard tractor beam used on most ships. While tractor beams are installed on all Ionian League ships, these advanced tractor beams are equipped only to Aegis, Navigare, Corbita, and Horia class vessels, and are capable of towing (provided a ship with enough power) large asteroids and even Aegis class vessels. However, they are primarily used on mining ships such as the Horia class. Gravis Remulcum tractor beams work by creating a focused gravity well to the aft of a sublight ship and/or by elongating a ship’s warp bubble to fit the towed object as well.

[edit] Interluxic Transporter

An Interluxic Transporter is the advanced version of standard transporters used by most races. This transporter device that converts matter into light. Any shield that allows light to pass through it (meaning the ship can be seen) will allow transported materials to pass through it. This means that a cloaked ship that is detected by sensors, even if the layout of the ship is perfectly classified, cannot be transported
